I would add that this is also true for masturbation and other forms of sexual addiction. It’s not what’s permissible, it’s what’s beneficial that matters. [click through.. it’s worth reading!]
I wish we’d step away from the “is pornography okay/not okay” and “is watching porn morally acceptable or is it morally offensive.” At the end of the day, one person’s moral verdict isn’t helpful or practical when held up against what it’s scientifically doing to individuals and relationships.
been goin through this amazing photographer’s portrait work for the past half an hour. being blown away, page by page.
here’s one shoot that i really loved
so this is Lisi. I have been so greatly impacted by her life and her incredible strength and courage. I have cried so many times over this girl and her story. after we met, i began to think, “what have I even done?” sure, I think i do good. i aim to be honest and generous with my love, but i have done nothing like Lisi. it’s one thing to walk in one direction and call it good. it’s a whole ‘nother to completely turn your feet and start on a new path. that takes grit. determination.she has another life, sweet Niayah, to celebrate with because of her courage to do what was right. I admire her honesty and her willingness to tell me the things she did and in allowing you to hear her story.

hurting, aching, crying
In the flow of a rapper, burdened by fame. cries of a poet, fighting for injustice. of a mother’s sacrifice to bring her child into the world. women beaten into submission by drunken husbands — neglected as children, abandoned and left to survive on their own. loneliness of a college student surrounded by people, but so alone.
I love the consulting firm IDEO they have introduced a new site called Open Ideo where individuals can come together to solve a major societal challenge. It’s a great way to show that even through the ‘anonymity’ of the internet as humans we can still come together for the greater good.
